Cadiz, Spain

This past June Ms. Collet and Mr. Richmond accompanied seven 7th and 8th graders to Cadiz, Spain where they participated in a Spanish language immersion program and learned about the history of the area.  Our ten days in Andalucia included homestays for our students, attending school from 10 to 1 each day,  enjoying the Andalucian two hour lunch/siestas from 1 – 3 and participation in cultural events and trips in the late afternoon.

There is no doubt that the students improved their conversational Spanish and learned about the beauty and history of Cadiz and its surrounding area.  It was a wonderful trip. Bien hecho!!!

Traveling to Spain was an unforgettable experience. I stayed with an amazing host family that I am still in touch with, became a lot more confident having a conversation, and had a lot of fun! It was a great way to begin my summer!

This summer I was privileged to go on the school trip to Spain, where  I was able to explore Spanish culture in a way I would not be able to do in New York. The trip helped improve my Spanish more than I could ever learn in a classroom.
